I was trying to find a guide for pugilist, but it seems none of that is currently on the market. The closest I could find is this Final Fantasy XIV strategy guide. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised – not only with the content it contains for pugilists, but the overall quality and level of detail.
The people responsible for the FFXIV guide have beta-tested the game and have been there and done that. They know the game in and out and are now sharing that information. This Final Fantasy XIV guide is suitable for both beginners and expert players. The guide does an excellent job on telling you how to level, how to do quests, explain the guild system, explain the armory system, and much more. Basically if you missed out your chance in the closed-beta portion of the game, then this guide will give you a leg up amongst the rest of the players.
The leveling tips and strategies offered by this guide are exceptional. The ideal leveling spots and monsters that the guide points out are valid and you will indeed level up much quicker. Depending on your class whether you are a marauder, puglist, or archer this guide will tell you what skills to use and what monster to attack to get the most efficient amount of experience. This guide is highly recommended for understanding how to make gil and identifying what drops to look out for so that you may sell it for a high price at the auction house. The guide goes into great detail about the guild system. It does a great job in making the concept of guild system easy to understand. It will tell you how to attract guilds, so that you can be wanted anytime and anywhere. It will also tell you how to start your own guild.
The FFXIV guide is thorough and concise. It will help you avoid wasted time and effort and basically tell you the best strategy to use in a given situation. So whether you are a gladiator or thaumaturge, this guide will definitely help in your leveling and questing of this game. The Final Fantasy XIV guide even offers free updates after you purchase the guide. You’ll be updated on any new strategy or tip that comes out in the future. Final Fantasy XIV is the sequel to the successful MMORPG Final Fantasy XI developed by Square Enix. In true Final Fantasy fashion, Final Fantasy XIV delivers stunning visuals and a world filled with monsters waiting to be explored.
For veterans of Final Fantasy XI, many of the playable classes may look familiar but there are subtle differences. The name changes and differences have transitioned also to playable job classes. The once mighty and proud hand-to-hand class called Monk in Final Fantasy XI has been renamed and rebooted for Final Fantasy XIV.
The Pugilist is the hand-to-hand class that most veteran players will liken to the Monk of the previous Square Enix MMORPG. As a Disciple of War, the Pugilist masters stances that range from offensive to defensive and continually change throughout battle. Most Final Fantasy XIV guides would portray the Pugilist with the role of a Damage Dealer. Although some players my try to experiment with main tanking as the evasion and enmity generation of the pugilist will allow for it, the lack of natural defense will deter others from this role. The armor of the Pugilist dictates the style of play that most gamers will use during team play and solo play.
The pugilist in visuals looks similar to Monk although the character job class now has an Middle Eastern themed look. Cloth clothing and light armor is available to the Pugilist in comparison to other classes that wear heavy armor and shields. Square Enix has given job ability traits to the Pugilist that are a mixture of the previous Thief and Monk job class from Final Fantasy XI. Mocking provoke is a job ability which allows the Pugilist to build enmity which will generate focus from the monster to the pugilist. As far as how much enmity is generated is unknown, but does allow the pugilist to grab the focus of the enemy for a little while until the main tank is able to control. Blindside, which is a trait similar to the Thief’s sneak attack, is a move that is activated once behind the target of the foe the next attack will increase in power by half of your dexterity. Chakra, which is a Monk ability from Final Fantasy XI, is a self-healing ability which cures HP by consuming TP.
The Pugilist is a new character class that combines some job abilities and traits from two popular character classes from Final Fantasy XI. Players will be able to determine and evolve the pugilist job role in a party setting as the world of Eorzea unfolds in time.
